This report is the result of research done by Africa Centre. It was done to determine the civic situation of the African immigrant community in Ireland.

   

Negative Politics, Positive Vision: Immigration and the 2004 Elections

'Negative Politics, Positive Vision' is a sequel to 'Positive Politics' report, published by Africa Centre in November 2003. It reports the responses of the main political parties and the questions regarding the participation of minority ethnic communities in local and national political processes in Ireland.

   

Positive Politics: Participation of Immigrants and Ethnic Minorities in the Electral Process

This report advocated for the need for a positive response to social diversity during the 2004 local elections.

   

Submission by Africa Centre to the National Action Plan agianst Racism

The Africa Centre organised a consultation forum in August 2002. The purpose of this consultation was to examine and submit its analysis on racism. It was a response to the request by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform seeking a public view in its planning of a National Action Plan against racism.
