Janet Dupe Omoniwa

Janet Dupe Omoniwa received the bachelor’s degree in history from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, in 2009, and the master’s degree in history from University of Ibadan, Nigeria, in 2013. Her research interest was vested on social identity and intergroup/cultural relations. Knowing that people of African descent in Ireland and the diaspora have overtime been faced with the challenges of multiculturalism and assimilation, instead of interculturalism and inclusion. Her objective while serving on the board of African centre Ireland is to build on the good legacy of the predecessors, advocating and proffering policies that will enhance the lives of Africans living in Ireland. Her dream is to have an Ireland where the walk of Pride isn’t just about sexuality but respect and acceptance for individualism, irrespective of family, race, status, culture or religious background.
